This past weekend I made a day trip to Virginia, where my family got to witness the wrath of my 2-year-old son. And by wrath, I mean the non-stop activity and need for action from the moment he woke up at 8am to the time he passed out at 8pm…Yup 12 straight hours of excitement. As the rest of my family was in awe of his energy, my father simply sat back and smiled, while he shared war stories of me being the exact same way.
Being a father has given me so much more respect for my father and the sacrifices that he made to be there for me. This was the very same reason that I always wanted to be in business for myself. Not just for financial freedom, but for freedom of time. Having the ability to make my own schedule, do what I want when I want, and be there for my son as he experiences life.
Typically, the summer months are supposed to be my lighter months, but it seems like this year I’ve been going harder than ever. This morning I held a private training session with my trading clients, followed by my routine hour or so of physical fitness. Afterwards, I recorded a Trading Blog video, went to the grocery store, edited & uploaded the Trading Blog video, edited & uploaded the recording from this morning’s training, recorded, edited and uploaded another Trading Video for the members of my Syndicate Program and then cooked dinner for the wife and kid. Busy day I know.
However, it was all worth it to spend the next 2 hours playing catch with my son and watching him perfect his skill of kicking a soccer ball and bouncing a basketball into the hoop. It’s moments like that when you realize what you’re working for, or who you’re working for and that’s what keeps me going each day.
By the way, I passed out for a few minutes on the couch and my son is still up and going. I’d never thought I’d say this, but that god for the mother in law coming over!
