How To Gain Complete Control Over Our Lives
Maybe it’s me getting old, but I’ve gotten really sick of hearing people complain. In general, I don’t think people understand how much control we actually have over our lives & our situations. Sure, outside factors will always play a role & we can’t control everything that happens to us. But one thing that we don have COMPLETE CONTROL over is how we respond & react.
The human brain is a beautiful piece of machinery, as it gives us the ability to program & reprogram it at will. Seriously, you can literally change your outlook, attitude & actions all from changing the way that you think.
Years ago I was in a very bad place mentally. I had started a few businesses, and like any new entrepreneur, I think I massively underestimated the amount of time, energy and effort needed in order to find success. What made things worse is that I was one of the only go-getters in my group so whenever I was faced with an obstacle I’d be hit with the “you should just quit” or “I told you it wouldn’t work” response which would simply drag me into a deeper hole.
Fortunately, I decided to make a few changes in my life. I surrounded myself with those who were more successful than myself & I started getting in the routine of finding daily inspirational messages each morning. What’s amazing is that not too long after making these changes, I began to notice a handful of massive changes. I was now thinking glass half full vs. glass half empty & instead of wasting my energy thinking of excuses I was not driven to find solutions.
I still wasn’t where I wanted to be at in my life or in my businesses, but I made the choice to stay positive despite what was happening around me which lead to me ultimately earning success. It’s important o understand that we can only control what we can control. And that means not complaining about how the world treats you, rather focusing on how you want to treat the world.
Above is a podcast episode I did on this subject talking about FREE WILL & how we ALWAYS have the power of choice, even if the choices aren’t always in our favor.
