Busier Isn’t Better In Trading

This past week was one of the busiest weeks that I’ve seen in the Forex Market. You can go back & check the economic calendar for more details but essentially we had four consecutive days of major economic releases.

A younger Akil used to live for these days as it was a chance for me to “catch some moves” or “ride the wave” referring to the potential massive rallies in price. But today my mindset has made a complete 180.

Weeks like these become my vacation weeks, where I tend to have very little interest in the markets. There’s really no reason for me to trade beforehand as the market slows to a crawl in anticipation. And there’s certainly no reason to trade during as playing the “guess the news” (which is really guess the reaction to the news) game isn’t really my thing.

My trading strives off of predictive movement. So when the market becomes a crap shoot…well let’s just say I’d prefer to put my money at risk at a table instead.
